Nothing beats seeing our creations with your own eyes.
MCI Carpets sells area rugs, Wall to Wall carpet and carpet tiles under the trade name Moooi Carpets.
At MCI Carpets sustainability plays a central role. Not because of government requests, but because we believe in it. We would like to contribute to the environment, the people and their habitat. We invest in recyclable products and are focused on reducing waste. It is our goal to minimize energy use in our production locations and offices. We are constantly developing programs to reduce the impact our products have on the environment.
It is not possible to produce and print carpets without leaving a small footprint. MCI Carpets however has been striving for years to reduce the negative impact on the environment and is constantly improving their production process. This is an ongoing ambition. MCI Carpets focusses on the main areas where we can make a positive difference.
MCI Carpets produces on demand only and keeps very little stock to ensure that each product that is produced is used and does not go to waste. We make custom print files to ensure that the 4 meter wide canvas is used in the most efficient manner and waste is kept to a minimum.
Our blank canvas carpet is made of polyamide and/or wool. Part of our backing materials is made of recycled PET bottles. These materials are more sustainable than similar materials as not only the resources are more sustainable, they are also more durable.
Our printer is custom made for MCI Carpets with highest possible efficiency and sustainability. The Chromojet 800 printer achieves incredible high resolutions and accurate tones. It mixes 16 basic shades and uses 76,2 dpi (nine dots per mm²) reproduction to create an unlimited mix of colours.
We only use 16 colours with no ink disposal. This leads to less coloured sewage water and less rinsing of the stations due to fewer cleaning cycles. Less dye waste, fewer cleaning cycles and less energy consumption results in a more environmental friendly way to print carpets.
The water that is used comes from our own spring and groundwater. It is treated inhouse for soft water and reverse osmosis water. The entire process uses 70% less water than alternative methods.
The carpets are produced in a sustainable environment using 100% renewable energy, CO2 neutral wind energy, clean water and waste management.
The carpets rolls go to our finish department to be cut into shapes and to be finished by hand.
The carpet rolls that are meant for tiles go to a different plant. These rolls are heated and laser cut into tiles, with limited waste. Finally, the tiles are put into 100% recyclable cardboard boxes and shipped to its final destination.
Our products have been awarded with many certificates such as; the Eurofins Gold certificate, EPD, BREEAM, GUT and GUI.
